Markham Family Photographer
Making art from real people since 2010
With amazing diversity, the best food around, beautiful parks, and historic Unionville, Markham is one of the greatest cities in the Greater Toronto Area. It's also the perfect place to take family photos because of the variety of parks and trails as well as many comfortable studios to choose from.
Maternity & Newborn Photography
Time during pregnancy is a funny thing. One day you feel like you'll never be out of the first trimester, and then you blink and your due date is next week!
For pregnancy photos, I usually recommend booking your session in the third trimester, between weeks 26 and 34 (depending on if it's your first pregnancy or not.)
Newborn sessions are a little different since babies come whenever they want, so I suggest that my clients book 1 to 6 months before their due date. Once your sweet baby is here, let me know right away so we can schedule their session within a week or two of their arrival.
NATURAL, OUTDOOR FAMILY PHOTOS IN MARKHAM
Markham's parks are one of the best locations to capture portraits of families. They're the perfect backdrop for timeless portraits while letting your kids get their wiggles out too.
Milne Dam Conservation Park is a beautiful natural setting that's right in town and a quick drive from the Berczy and Wismer neighborhoods. If you're looking for a little more natural open space in your photos, than Rouge National Urban Park is another of my favorite spots.

WINTER LOCATIONS IN MARKHAM FOR FAMILY PORTRAITS
Just because Markham winters are FREEZING doesn't mean you have to wait until spring for your family portraits. We can have your children warm and cozy at one of the many local photo studios in town. That way we can all relax and take our time with the photos instead of worrying about frostbite.
A studio is a great option if you'd like a more elegant, minimal background for your family pictures, but sometimes young children feel more comfortable at their own home. In that case, we can discuss the lighting and decor of your home and see if that would be the right fit for the family photos you're hoping for.

3. Design & Ordering Appointment
4. Finished Artwork
Once you've reserved your session, we'll have a planning appointment where I'll style you and your family's outfits. You'll have the option to use pieces from my client wardrobe or from your own closet. We'll plan out the location for our shoot as well as your artwork preferences.
I'll commission one of my favorite hair and makeup artists to come to your home and get you glowing! Then we'll have a relaxed, fun photo session where you'll never have to wonder about what to do with your hands.
After your session, we'll meet again so you can see your beautiful images for the first time. I'll help you choose which products and framed prints are right for your home and we can even design a gallery wall for you during our meeting.
About 6 to 10 weeks later, your beautiful artwork will be complete, ready to be picked up and live it's best life being enjoyed in your home.

"It was so easy to work with Emily and she really made me feel relaxed and natural. I LOVE our photos and will truly cherish them forever!" - Muriel W.
Hi! I'm Emily.
Your Family Photo Fairy Godmother
I'm a professional family photographer serving Oakville and the communities in Southern Ontario. As a mom of three boys (Yes, all boys. You read that right.), I really have a heart for making sure mamas get in the photos with their family.
We're always so busy making sure everyone else is taken care of and ready for photos, that we barely have any energy left for a shower! That's why I've crafted my business to help YOU feel cared for and beautiful.
I want to be the photographer for you that I wish I had when my guys were little, I was sleep deprived and had no idea what to wear. So instead of having a photoshoot add stress, I want your whole experience to be delightful, relaxing and so special.
